As Motyka, the city of Modica was part of the Greek Empire, followed by the Romans, who called it Motuca, and finally the Arabs, who left their cultural heritage in Mohac. The company name "Moak" is thus a tribute to the Arabs, who are considered the discoverers of coffee.
