Here comes the Sun

The Eureka Helios series is named after the Greek sun god. The reason for this is probably the powerful appearance of the professional grinders, both visually and technically. The round interface on the front is actually a bit reminiscent of a sun. The Eureka Helios is available in two versions, each of which differs in the size of the grinding discs. The 65 mm grinding discs impress with a grinding performance of 3.5 to 5 grams per second, while the 75 mm grinding discs impress with a grinding performance of 4.0 to 5.9 grams per second. Accordingly, it is a reliable coffee grinder that is particularly suitable for espresso and knows how to play to its strengths in professional settings such as a small café or office.

Many possibilities

The heart of the Helios (apart from the grinding chamber) is the round control unit with touchscreen. Here, three doses or timers can be set and called up in the standard view. There is also a manual mode. For each dose, there is a counter reading that shows how many portions have been ground. The grinder menu has many options that allow you to adjust it to your own needs. All settings, as well as the length of the timers, can be protected from accidental or unauthorized access with a PIN. In addition, you can set, for example, whether a grinding process can be started using the switch under the ejector, the respective dose buttons on the touchscreen, or both ways. You can even set whether portion size 1, 2, or 3 must be selected before each grinding, or whether the grinder remembers the last dose selected. An automatic reminder to maintain the grinder can also be configured. Finally, the brightness of the display and the color scheme of the interface can be adjusted.

A powerful device

The Eureka Helios is housed in a housing that weighs 12 kg (65) to 15.2 kg (75) and the large bean container has space for around 1.2 kg of beans. As you would expect from Eureka, the grinding level can be adjusted continuously and with micrometric precision using a rotary wheel. The portafilter fork, into which the portafilter can be clamped hands-free, can be adjusted in height so that any portafilter fits. The position of the ejection chute can also be adjusted perfectly to suit individual needs. Finally, the lighting of the ejection area gives a high-quality impression.
