Transparently trace the supply chain with blockchain technology

Barbera is implementing the innovative blockchain technology with the aim of making the supply chain for Barbera coffees transparent and traceable.

How does blockchain technology work?

For each coffee that already has blockchain technology, there is a separate page. This provides information transparently. For example, about the four steps during the coffee bean process: 1) Planting on the plantation, 2) Harvesting, 3) Drying and 4) Roasting. There is also a link on the site that allows you to download additional information. For example, photos of the harvest, certificates such as the organic certificate, a map showing the origin of the beans, a profile of the farmer who managed the coffee plantation and much more. In addition to the links that lead to the pages with all the information, a QR code is also printed on the coffee packaging that leads directly to the transparent pages.

Round body and beautiful crema

The Barbera Washed Sidamo Gr. 1 is a single origin made from 100% Arabica beans that were grown in Ethiopia. The coffee is medium intense and pleasantly sweet. The crema and a medium caffeine content round off the taste of the Washed Sidamo Gr. 1 perfectly. Notes of grape and citrus give the blend its unique character.

Special roasting of Barbera

The special thing about growing the beans is the use of natural compost. After they are ripe, the beans are harvested by hand and then dried in the Ethiopian sun. After a 36-hour fermentation, the beans are then gently roasted. The Ethiopian single origin is organic, UTZ and direct trade certified.
