Tradition since 1890
The traditional family business was founded in 1890 by Josef Schreyögg as a grocery store. He specialized to become a true coffee expert. Not blind to technological progress, Josef Schreyögg installed the first electrically powered coffee roasting machine in 1905 - an extremely modern and high-tech instrument for the time. This machine made experimentation and later the art of roasting and blending possible.
Single-variety long-term roasting
To this day, the company's strength is its ability to characterize the natural product coffee in great detail. The taste of coffee is influenced by many different factors. It is therefore important to be able to assess the product in its raw state, to adjust the Alps Coffee roast accordingly and then to evaluate and shape the taste. Roasting at Alps Coffee is done using a form of drum roasting, which is also known as long-term roasting. The coffee beans are roasted for around 15 minutes at a maximum temperature of 230 °C. This process particularly highlights the taste and aromas - thus achieving perfection in the cup. The knowledge and experience of the family tradition has been passed down from generation to generation over the last 130 years. Today, Peter Schreyögg is the third generation to run the company.
Sogno di Cioccolato: A chocolate dream for the senses
Sogno di Cioccolato is a seduction of bitter chocolate in liquid form. This strong espresso brings the rich, velvety notes of dark chocolate to every cup and ensures an expressive taste experience. The blend is carefully composed to emphasize the deep, intense aromas of dark chocolate, which combine harmoniously with the notes of hazelnut. Sogno di Cioccolato is the ideal coffee for all those who long for a special moment of pleasure.
Special variety
The roastery is characterized by the blend ALPS COFFEE EXQUISIT, ALPS COFFEE DELIZIA and of course ALPS COFFEE SCHÜMLI. The product range also includes fair trade and organic certified espressos. The entire Alps Coffee line is characterized primarily by its balance. Strictly selected green coffees from selected plantations and refinement according to all the rules of the "art of roasting" make the blends so special.
