Delta Cafés promotes the sustainable cultivation of coffee. In order to improve the living conditions of coffee farmers, the roastery purchases its green coffee directly from the farmer. Delta Cafés, however, uses trains to transport the coffee from the port to the roastery in order to keep CO2 emissions as low as possible. Furthermore, the location of the roastery in the Alentejo region has created many jobs, which means that the founder, Rui Nabeiro, has made a significant contribution to local socio-economic development.

The beans for the Delta Platinum were roasted using the special Torrefacto roasting process. With this type of roasting, sugar is added during roasting. This causes the beans to caramelize during roasting. The beans are darker and shinier thanks to the Torrefacto roasting process.
