The COYOOCO barista towel is used for clean work on the espresso machine. The startup from Mannheim has recognized that it is unnecessarily complicated for many home baristas to handle the portafilter machine with several rags. The innovation in the otherwise admittedly boring rag industry provides a solution and is really clever. With the barista towel, three rags and cloths can be replaced by a single one. The cloth is primarily used to remove any coffee grounds left over from the portafilter or sieve after each extraction. A clean and dry sieve ensures that the next espresso is perfect. It can also be used to wipe and blow out the steam wand, as well as to wipe down the espresso machine itself.
COYOOCO has incorporated the so-called Barista Corner into the Barista Towel. The corner opposite the loop has a kind of triangular pocket sewn into it, into which you can put your fingers like a washcloth. This makes it easy to clean out the sieve without getting old coffee on your fingers. The large loop is suitable for attaching the towel to the steam or hot water valve, or to a base of the portafilter machine, as an alternative to a classic hook.
The barista towel from COYOOCO is made in Germany and is of good quality. It is sewn in two layers, which means it also insulates better when touching the steam wand. In a short video, COYOOCO gives some insights into the production of the towel:
