Costadoro Extra is the most traditional and best-selling blend of the Torrefazione Costadoro from the former Olympic city of Turin. Because this blend of 90% Arabica and 10% Robusta coffee beans was the only variety for many years, it was unspectacularly called Caffè Costadoro after the name of the house itself, but since 2023 it has been renamed Costadoro Extra. Costadoro Caffe continues to roast this variety according to the highest principles and quality criteria, and makes no concessions or compromises when purchasing the green coffee. For the Extra, the Torrefazione Costadoro uses a blend of the best bean varieties of highland coffee from Central and South America.

At a constant temperature

In order to combine the optimal properties of each individual bean variety to create a perfect coffee, each variety is roasted separately and in small batches at a consistent temperature and slowly to the optimal roasting level in the rotary drum. In this way, each variety contributes to the optimization, one variety for example for the fullness, the aromas, the perfect acidity, the fruit notes, the body, volume or the lasting spiciness and length.
