The grinder, which has been developed and perfected over the years in Liechtenstein, enables efficient grinding and guarantees a long service life. Unlike conventional conical grinders, it is not the inner part of the grinder that rotates, but the outer part. This grinder grinds with a fast performance of 3.5g per second for espresso and 5.5g per second for coffee. The innovative, pull-out portafilter holder enables dispensing directly into the portafilter, the supplied ground coffee container or even into the hand filter such as the Hario V60. The position of the portafilter holder can be individually adjusted depending on the type of preparation. The precise timer function is accurate to 0.1 seconds and thus enables very precise portioning. The grinding level setting of the Sette 270Wi has an immediate effect, as there are no ground coffee residues in the grinder. The built-in LCD display provides a good overview and offers a high level of user comfort. There are three memory buttons available that you can program with individual meals.

Baratza has been able to perfect the Sette 270 even further, and the Sette 270Wi has been created from this. The Sette 270Wi is one of the first grinders to allow you to dispense an actively measured amount of coffee directly into the portafilter. This is possible because Baratza has installed a special weighing cell in the holding system for the portafilter, the container supplied or the hand filter. In addition, the 270Wi grinds even more quietly and has a manual re-grinding function. The "i" in the Wi stands for intelligent, the grinder is capable of learning and can independently detect whether too much or too little has been ground and corrects itself accordingly.
