Wonderful notes of origin

The Frankfurt roastery Hoppenworth & Ploch knows its craft. The blend of beans from Ethiopia and Brazil is no coincidence. The combination was deliberately chosen to combine the best of both varieties. In addition to the processing, the two types of beans have another thing in common: the cultivation on the farms Fazenda Dutra (Brazil) and Tega & Tula (Ethiopia) is organically certified. This means that the blend of both beans is also certified organic coffee. The roasting profile has been carefully developed to bring out the strengths and special features of the two varieties. The result is an espresso with a medium roast and distinctive notes of origin. Thanks to the natural processing, the espresso tastes wonderfully sweet, with aromas of chocolate and wild berries.

What does Natural Bend mean?

The Natural Blend by Hoppenworth & Ploch is an espresso blend made from 100% Arabica beans from various origins. A blend (as opposed to a single origin) refers to roasts that are based on a mixture of different coffee beans in terms of origin and variety. The term "natural", on the other hand, refers to the processing of the coffee beans, or coffee cherries, between harvesting and roasting. In natural or dry processing, the coffee cherries are dried after harvesting before the dried pulp is removed from the core - the beloved coffee bean. The longer contact between the coffee bean and the drying pulp causes sugar from the fruit to bind to the coffee bean, creating a sweeter and often fruitier taste. Back to the Natural Blend by Hoppenworth & Ploch: This espresso is a blend of dry-processed coffee beans. In this case, the 100% Arabica coffee beans come from Brazil and Ethiopia.
