The ECM Puristika lives up to its name. The single-circuit portafilter machine is designed to make the perfect espresso without compromise. The legendary Faema E61 brewing group is installed. Unlike dual-circuit machines with the same brewing group, however, there is no thermosiphon installed. By dispensing with a steam wand, the machine can concentrate on the essentials: making espresso. This means that the temperature of the boiler, controlled by a PID controller, is always at the perfect temperature for making espresso without conflicting with the steam temperature. This makes the ECM Puristika particularly suitable for coffee fans who prefer to drink their espresso neat, or for the occasional enjoyment of cappuccino, latte and other mixed drinks that froth milk in other ways. As a special feature, the Puristika has a rotary control for adjusting the expansion valve instead of a steam valve. This can be used to select the maximum pressure at which the espresso is made. The adjustable range is between 8.5 and 12 bar. Last but not least, the external water tank made of glass is very special. It is connected to the machine with hoses and is placed freely next to the particularly slim Puristika.

Simple grinder for espresso

The ECM C-Manuale 54 is part of the bundle to match the Puristika. Just like the portafilter machine, the coffee grinder is reduced to the essentials and is really good at it. The OnDemand coffee grinder grinds as long as the portafilter is pressed against the contact rocker. By turning the lockable grinding level scale, the desired grinding level can be easily set and found again later. With the typical high-quality workmanship of ECM and by avoiding vulnerable frills, the C-Manuale 54 is a loyal companion for the portafilter machine.

Matching accessories included

A matching tamper and a knock box from ECM are included in the bundle. The high-quality tamper fits perfectly into the standard sieve of the ECM Puristika and, with its beautiful handle and impressive weight of 400 grams, sits comfortably in the hand. The even pressing of the ground coffee is reliable. After the espresso has been drawn, the espresso puck must be removed from the sieve. An ECM knock box is included in the bundle for this purpose. The container made of polished stainless steel is covered with non-slip rubber on the underside. The rod on which the portafilter is struck is also rubberized to minimize noise when knocking.
