From a rarity to a favorite drink
When the couple Guiseppe and Carmela Murgia opened their own small coffee roasting company in 1938, it was a real rarity in Sardinia in the city of Cagliari. Coffee was a new product on the island that only the elite could afford.
Visiting the roastery - a must for coffee lovers
The coffee from the La Tazza d'oro roastery soon became known beyond the city limits of Cagliari and throughout Sardinia. For many people, it was a must to visit the local roastery and taste a cup if they were nearby. Steadily growing sales meant that La Tazza d'oro modernized its production in the 1970s and opened a larger factory in Viale Elms. Production capacity could finally be increased further and the product range was also expanded so that every taste preference could gradually be satisfied. A classic with a strong personality is a must for a traditional roastery like La Tazza d'oro. In addition to the first classic, La Tazza d'oro has of course been roasting a full-bodied, aromatic MISCELA D'ORO coffee for decades. In order to appeal to as many tastes as possible, there is a home, bar, office and catering line.
Quality is rarely a coincidence
A major advantage of the roastery is the early investment in technology. However, its success is based on the intention to never neglect the human role in the roasting process, because some processes always require a watchful eye. From pre-production to the roasting process and the mixing of the different products/blends, the attentive human eye always plays a major role in the quality assessment.
Quality is not a coincidence
The coffee bean is a natural product that changes depending on the weather conditions. This makes it all the more important to introduce precise controls in order to keep the taste characteristics of the established coffees as similar as possible year after year. Even if the roasting times and temperatures, which vary depending on the variety, always remain at the same setting, this is still a challenge. Quality is and will never be a coincidence.
With Innovation to the Top
Bold but also technically innovative decisions combined with years of roasting experience have made La Tazza d'oro one of the leading roasters on the island of Sardinia. Since 2008, the company has been able to cross the island's borders thanks to larger premises and is now exporting its products to 20 countries. With its consistent quality, technical know-how and transparency towards consumers, it has achieved a high level of prestige. Try La Tazza d'oro coffee for yourself and taste a hint of the former roasting tradition!
