Unique Coffee Blend

For the Classico, Illy blends nine exquisite varieties of Arabica coffee to create a unique flavor profile. As one of the great traditional Italian roasters, Illy has the experience needed to reliably deliver good quality. The Classico, recognizable by its red design, is Illy's most balanced roast, which appeals to a broad target group of coffee lovers. From the choice of green coffees to the development of the roast profile, the goal was to find the perfect balance between acidity and bitterness. The result is an extremely harmonious espresso, the flavor of which consists of tart notes reminiscent of oranges and floral-sweet nuances with hints of caramel and jasmine.

Francesco Illy founded his roasting company illycaffè in 1933. Shortly afterwards, illy developed a process for packaging roasted coffee in a way that preserves its aroma. The legendary tin can for 250 gram portions has its origins in the 1950s. The current design has achieved international cult status after more than twenty years. When the coffee is empty, the can can be used for other purposes or recycled.
