The Barista Milk Jug: An Absolute Must for Coffee Lovers
Fine milk foam is just as important for hot drinks such as cappuccino, espresso macchiato or latte macchiato as the selection of high-quality espresso beans for your coffee. If you prepare your coffee specialties in a portafilter machine rather than a fully automatic coffee machine, you will need a suitable milk jug of the right size for frothing the milk.
Important Factors When Buying Milk Jugs
The filling volume is crucial
Real baristas usually have several stainless steel milk jugs in different sizes, with the most common size having a capacity of 350 ml. The size of a milk frothing jug of 350 ml is easily enough to prepare a cappuccino or two espresso macchiatos. If you want to prepare smaller or larger amounts of milk foam at once, Aromatico also sells barista milk jugs with a capacity of 90, 590 or 950 ml. This means that you can of course use a larger amount of milk and prepare more milk foam at once! The coffee accessory manufacturers Motta and Barista Space in particular offer a large selection of different jugs for all tastes in the Aromatico range. With a beautiful milk jug, pouring milk foam is much more fun!
Aromatico Tip: For the best milk foam results and even latte art, you should use cow's milk with a fat content of 3.5% for frothing. Also, put the milk jug in the fridge before use so that the frothing process takes longer and the milk does not heat up too quickly. One rule is: hold the milk jug from below with your left hand and froth the milk until it becomes too hot for your left hand. Take a look at our tutorial for the perfect milk foam.
The perfect milk foam may not work on the first try, but with a little practice with the steam wand and the right barista milk jug, you will soon get the hang of it and surprise your coffee guests with great latte art.
