Why a scale?

More and more baristas appreciate the precision that an accurate scale such as the COYOOCO coffee scale with auto-timer enables. The aim is to precisely control the amount of ground coffee used as well as the amount of water or espresso in the cup. The ratio of ground coffee used to liquid in the cup or the coffee filter for filter coffee is an important element in creating and adhering to brewing recipes. For espresso, this brew ratio should be between 1:1 and 1:3, depending on the roast and taste. The second decisive factor is the run-through time. Scales with an integrated timer or stopwatch enable the time from the first drop to the end of the extraction for filter coffee and espresso to be recorded down to the second.

The COYOOCO coffee scale offers functions and features that make it particularly convenient to use. Thanks to the integrated lithium-ion battery, which is charged via USB-C, the days of changing batteries are over. A USB-C charger (fast charging) can also be used. The illuminated display, which is elegantly integrated into the housing, is easy to read even in poor lighting conditions. Thanks to a weighing range of 0.1 g to 2000 g, the scale starts displaying the weight as soon as the first bean is added. If desired, the stopwatch in P1 mode starts automatically when the first drop is in the cup or coffee filter. The manual P2 mode can be set by tapping the stopwatch symbol twice.

Suitable for filter and espresso

With dimensions of 130 x 150 x 23.5 mm, the COYOOCO coffee scale is large enough to safely place filter coffee makers such as the Chemex or other carafes. With many portafilter machines, it still fits comfortably under the spout without tipping over. The rubber mat supplied protects the scale from scratches and heat. The weighing surface is protected against splash water. This means that the scale can be used without any problems to weigh beans, ground coffee and the amount of drink.
