Salimbene

The mother of espresso is Naples. A very unique coffee drinking culture developed in Naples. The Salimbene coffee roastery was founded in Naples in 1933. Gennaro Salimbene, the founder of the roastery, was born in Haiti and imported the first beans to Italy from there. The original focus was on importing high-quality raw beans. The roastery quickly reached a considerable size and eventually began roasting coffee itself.

The Coffee World of Salimbene

A great passion and a feel for good coffee have enabled Caffé Salimbene to create the finest espressos of the highest quality and with a special aroma. The roastery is now run by the third generation, grandson Carlo Grenci.

The love of coffee is very important at Salimbene. Gennaro Salimbene developed the special secret recipe himself by constantly preparing new blends with the Cuccomella and trying them out himself. The Neapolitans call the classic Neapolitan coffee pot (turning pot) Cuccuma Cuccomella or Napoletana. A technique that southern Italians still use to prepare their coffee today. The coffee creations were then tasted and evaluated by his own test group. The consistent and unmistakable taste is guaranteed here. Coffee lovers are served with a total of three intense, dark-smoky gourmet blends with dark chocolate notes that pamper the discerning coffee palate. The dark roasted Salimbene Superbar is a true highlight of the roastery thanks to its rich taste experience.

Innovative thinking is the focus

The classic southern Italian espressos come in matte black silk pleated bags and in innovative and elegant cans that can be refilled. Quality is ensured by regularly adjusting the recipe to get the most out of the beans and guarantee consistent enjoyment.
